This page explains what AskBadge collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it when you use our website, dashboard, widget, payments, audits, and AI-powered features.

What this covers
This Privacy Policy applies to AskBadge's public website, product dashboard, embedded widget, documentation, audit workflows, presence reports, emails, and related services.
It covers information we collect directly from you, information collected automatically when the service is used, and information received from third-party providers you choose to use with AskBadge.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use AskBadge, we may collect the following categories of information.
- Account and profile information. This can include your name, email address, profile image, login provider, account creation dates, and session records.
- Authentication and security data. If you enable security features, we may store session tokens, two-factor authentication state, encrypted two-factor secrets, and recovery codes.
- Billing and transaction information. This includes plan status, subscription identifiers, billing provider, invoice records, payment intent IDs, and related purchase history. Payment card details are handled by payment processors rather than stored directly by AskBadge.
- Site and configuration data. This includes domains you add, site names, verification tokens, widget settings, enabled AI platforms, prompt text, site descriptions, generated
llms.txtcontent, and similar configuration data. - Widget interaction data. When a visitor interacts with an AskBadge widget, we may record the AI platform used, country, referrer, page path, detection method, and user agent. For abuse prevention and rate limiting, we may also temporarily process IP address information.
- Audit and report inputs. If you purchase an audit or generate AI-assisted reports, we may store the email address used for the order plus details you submit, such as domain, product description, target audience, competitors, summaries, and generated outputs.
- Support and communications. If you email us or reply to AskBadge messages, we may store the contents of that correspondence and any information you share with us.
How we use information
- To create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and keep sessions secure.
- To provide the AskBadge dashboard, widget configuration, verification flow, analytics, and API features.
- To process subscriptions, purchases, invoices, credits, and audit orders.
- To send transactional emails such as sign-in links, verification notices, receipts, audit updates, and billing alerts.
- To generate or assist with features such as presence reports, audit drafts, and other AI-powered outputs.
- To measure performance, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and improve the service.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account history, fulfill purchases, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention periods vary by data type. For example, account and billing records may be kept longer than session data, and analytics history may remain available while a site is active or as needed for product reporting.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. That said, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for using the service in a secure way.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain personal information. You may also have the right to object to some processing activities.
You can update some information directly inside your AskBadge account. For requests that require help from us, email support@askbadge.com.
If you close your account or ask us to delete information, we may still retain limited data where necessary for security, billing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or recordkeeping.
Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version on this page.
